The painting process – jump into another dimension
The portrait artist Vivo Gal Grabby is an artistic phenomenon born of the demographic amalgam of his native country Bulgaria. Yet, he is a cosmopolitan riding on the crest of the wave of his time.As a portrait artist Vivo Gal Grabby relies on traditional materials – canvas and oil paints. His hybrid technique appears later, when he commercialises his paintings and in support of eco-art.
His esthetical development, his philosophy and his creative picturesque-plastic concept of a mature artist, are the resultof his instinct for survival. Nature, life and the dynamic power of the Balearic Islands match Vivo’s artistic vibrations.
A considerable part of his art work evokes Mediterranean landscapes, sunsets and sunrises transformed into fairy tales by the fruits of his inner sensitivity and his rich imagination.

As a skilful artist, he is always looking for new topics and lesser-known techniques. Vivo dedicated the past two years to the canonisation of tens of symbolic local figures, painting their portraits without official orders from the models, but with their permission. The background of the portraits is in harmony with the diversity of the colours used and reminiscent of a glowing aura bursting onto the canvas. His subtle ability for choosing lively colours when depictingcharacteristic traits of hippie market heroes, night-clubs, political figures and local peopleproves that his artistic instinct for survival has transformed into a deep creative process.
SOLOMUN Introducing Vivo
More than two years ago a good friend of mine showed me the work of an artist who lives and works in Ibiza. He made, inspired just by my name, a nice painting, very simple, like from a child’s perspective. He played with my name: Sol, for Spanish sun and the English moon.
I instantly liked this idea. It was so simple and pure. I decided to make it my Facebook profile picture for quite a time. I was very surprised and happy that Ivo really visited me at Pacha, because he does not live in this party world at all. Ivo lives quite a solitary life. He is a very sensitive guy, very open for all kinds of vibes.
Ivo welcomed my manager and good friend with the words: “Hello, you are a good person?” So…Who am I to disagree? MORE….
